If we referred to the second semester of 2023 as a “transition period” between the traditional educational model and a new, more modern approach utilizing information and communication technologies, then the first semester of 2024 will be the pioneer in initiating a technological update in our classrooms and knowledge exchange spaces.
In this regard, the institute’s facilities have been modernized to make the teaching process more dynamic. Classrooms now feature smart TVs and internet connectivity. To support this transition, our teachers have been provided with laptops for preparing and delivering their lessons, and third-semester students have received the same. This shift encourages us to create more dynamic and digitalized environments, moving beyond the routine of blackboards, markers, and erasers.
The technological upgrade at IUTA JHS also includes the acquisition of a comprehensive Study Control package—a fully integrated system that manages the phases of academic administration (admission, retention, graduation) and tracks grades, attendance for students and faculty, and ensures compliance with academic planning and objectives. It is worth noting that the equipment has already been purchased and will be operational in the coming days, allowing us to assess its effectiveness before the start of the first semester of 2024.
The technology update also involves installing a more reliable internet service, facilitating the move towards distance education. This will enable us to conduct masterclasses with experts on specific topics, providing ongoing updates for our teachers and students without requiring their physical presence, thereby saving costs and enhancing performance.
Internet usage will be segmented starting in the first quarter of 2024, ensuring that it serves not only academic purposes but also provides rational recreational use. Dedicated times and free Wi-Fi zones will be available for our students, teachers, and staff.
Finally, we are currently 70% prepared for our III Expo Feria, an event where our students showcase the progress they have made in their careers. This year, we will extend the duration to four days, from February 20 to 23, to allow Group JHS executives, special guests, family members, and the community to see what our students have to offer.
We continue to advance in the professional development of our students.
